2025 PLAYER OF THE GAME INVITATIONAL RECAP
What was expected to be a great event ran into some difficulty as the weather for the three-day weekend did not cooperate. We did the best we could given the situation and the condition of the fields, and we appreciate everyone's understanding.
The 2025 Player of the Game Invitational was still a success even though the weather did not cooperate with us the entire weekend, bringing together 204 talented athletes across 13 multiple states and age divisions. Due to the inclement weather, instead of going through a tryout on Friday evening, players were divided up and put on their perspective teams based on the position(s) they played and where they were coming from in advance of arriving to our event. Coaches were handed their team roster and we were ready to start games on Friday to try and get in as many games as possible before the weather took a turn. Teams were formed in each division based on player positions, ensuring that every athlete had the opportunity to shine where they play best.
Each participant received two jerseys and were told to wear their travel team hats, proudly sporting NCS Cafarelli swag and showing off what team they played for throughout the year. Players were supposed to be evaluated for their fielding, arm strength, speed, hitting for average, hitting for power, and overall athleticism throughout the weekend—providing a great platform for talent recognition and development, but the weather just did not cooperate.
Again, due to the weather and the inability to evaluate players equitably, all registered "Player of the Game Invitational" players were provided the opportunity to represent Arizona and NCS in the prestigious Gameday New Year’s Baseball Fest to end the year. This exclusive tournament brings together elite talent throughout the Midwest as well as the Southwest to compete. Every player that elected to represent NCS played for free thanks to the generous sponsorship of NCS Cafarelli. These selected players received two additional jerseys and a hat, gearing up for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
including two teams in the 11U/12U division, two teams in the 13U division, a 14U team, and a Prep (High School Team).
The New Year’s Baseball Fest was coached by an impressive roster of former professional and college baseball players, including MLB, MiLB, and collegiate coaches, giving players invaluable guidance and mentorship. Even though some teams were shorthanded, we were able to put together several All-State teams to represent NCS Cafarelli, including two teams in the 11U/12U division, two teams in the 13U division, one 14U team, and a Prep (High School Team). Several of the NCS Cafarelli All-State teams advanced to the semi-finals, and the Prep (HS) team proudly brought home the Championship title! Last year our 12u All-State team came away with the Championship.
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made the 2025 Player of the Game Invitational such a memorable event, even throughout dealing with the weather-players, coaches, parents, and our sponsors. Your support and enthusiasm helped make this a standout weekend for all involved.
As we look ahead, excitement is already building for the 2026 Player of the Game Invitational. If you missed it this year, don’t wait-next year is your next chance to be part of something special, as this event continues to grow. Spots will fill fast, and with new surprises in store, it’s a baseball experience you won't want to miss. Register early and be ready to compete, grow, and have fun!
