Spring Fling II Baseball Tournament | NCS Cafarelli
What an incredible Weekend at 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐈! Sunshine, fierce competition, and nonstop baseball action made for an unforgettable weekend at the Spring Fling II event! With 45 teams battling it out across 6 divisions, the energy was electric from start to finish. There were 17 out of the 45 teams that were playing in their first NCS Cafarelli event this year.

Games lit up the East Valley at Crossroads Park and the West Valley at Independence and Youngker High Schools, showcasing top-tier talent on every field.

We celebrated 76 outstanding individual performances with Player of the Game awards, while 9 teams earned Championship Rings and another 9 claimed Finalist Rings. The bronze division also took home Championship and Finalist team Medals - a well-deserved recognition of their grit and hustle.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐒.𝐀.𝐁.𝐀. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧

S.A.B.A. took home the 14u championship by going 4-0 and outscoring their opponents 34-2 in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament this year. They have an 8-game win streak and have played in 3 total NCS events this year taking home first place back-to-back now.

S.A.B.A. Green was 3-0 (outscoring their opponents 41-15) heading into the championship game against S.A.B.A. This was their first NCS Cafarelli tournament of the year and they barely lost 1-0 in a closely contested championship match.

Dirtbags Grijalva 2029 went 2-0 on Saturday in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament, although they did participate in the HS Showcase Event in December. They ended up just missing out on the championship game after losing to S.A.B.A. Green 10-9.

The EM Firebirds were the fourth team going 2-0 on Saturday, also playing in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament. They went up against eventual champion S.A.B.A. in the semi-finals and were defeated 12-1.

This was the Prescott Rebels second NCS Cafarelli tournament this year. They started of with a resounding 14-0 win over Angels Black and then lost their next 2 games.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐙 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐲
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚

Overfly AZ Grey ended up the high seed in the silver bracket after going 0-2 on Saturday. They bounced back when it counted, however, finishing with 2 straight wins on Sunday, and outscoring their opponents 26-4 to take home the Silver bracket championship. This was also their first NCS Cafarelli tournament, so a good result to take home rings in their first event.

AZ Sticks, Premier Baseball Arizona, and Angels Black all went 0-2 on Saturday as well. Premier Baseball got a win over AZ Sticks on Sunday before losing the silver championship to Overfly AZ Grey.

It was AZ Sticks third NCS event this year, while it was the second for Premier Baseball and Angels Black, as they all look to earn their first championship soon.

𝟏𝟑𝐔 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 🏆
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬

Three teams went 2-0 on Saturday to make it to the gold championship round on Sunday, and the other two teams that made it to the gold bracket went 1-0-1. Rebels Carolina Blue was one of those teams that went 1-0-1, and were the bottom seed heading into Sunday. Something changed, however, as they went 3-0 while taking the long road to the championship, but eventually winning it all by defeating the Arizona Defenders 14-1 in the Championship. They had some close games all weekend long playing in their third NCS event. Rebels Carolina Blue have won their last 2 NCS tournaments and are 10-1-1 overall this year.

The Arizona Defenders came into Sunday as the #2 seed, and after going 3-0 they eventually lost to Rebels Carolina Blue in the gold championship. They had outscored their opponents 31-9 heading into the final game, but may have run out of pitching.

The AZ Outlaws were one of 3 teams that went 2-0 on Saturday, and they were the top seeded team heading into championship Sunday. They ran up against Rebels Carolina Blue in their first game and went down in a close 5-7 contest. This was the AZ Outlaws third NCS tournament and their best outing so far.

The AMDG Broncos 13u Black team was the third 2-0 team on Saturday and were the third seed in the gold bracket. They beat their opponents handily on Saturday outscoring them 27-11, but lost a tight 4-3 game to the Arizona Defenders in the semi-finals. This was their first NCS Cafarelli event this year, but it looks like we will see them again next week at our Cinco de Mayo Classic in Chandler.

ZT Prospects out of Casa Grande were playing in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament this year and were the #4 seed heading into Sunday after going 1-0-1 (tying their game against eventual tournament winner Rebels Carolina Blue 4-4). They lost in their rematch on Sunday in a nail biter 7-8 which sent them packing.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐀𝐙 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐞
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥

Angels Navy was the only team with a win (1-1) on Saturday which placed them on top of the silver bracket seeding for Sunday. However, they went up against a team that was looking for redemption after going 0-2 on Saturday. Angels Navy ended up losing their first Sunday game to AZ Neptune 14-2, but it still ended up being their best results in the two NCS tournaments they have played.

AZ Neptune was the 9th seed heading into Sunday and they had something to prove. They ended up going 3-0 and outscoring their opponents 54-23 on their way to the silver championship. This was the 5th NCS Cafarelli tournament for AZ Neptune and their second championship in 3 championship games.

Also going 0-2 on Saturday, Birdgang Baseball defeated AZ Nitro 4-3 to make it to the championship before losing to AZ Neptune. This was their first NCS Cafarelli tournament this year in this age division although it looks like they will be competing again next weekend in the Cinco de Mayo Classic (AZ).

AZ Nitro and Mesa Toros Red both went 0-3 over the weekend. This was the second NCS Cafarelli tournament for AZ Nitro after competing in the Spring Training Classic on 3/8/25. They are scheduled to compete in the 3rd Annual Memorial Day Classic in Payson on May 24-26th.

This was the third NCS Cafarelli tournament for the Mesa Toros Red and 4th overall NCS event. Unfortunately this was their worst outing so far this season, so we hope they perform better when they compete in our upcoming Cinco de Mayo Classic next week.

𝟏𝟐𝐔 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 🏆
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐬

Four teams went 2-0 on Saturday to make it to the Gold bracket on Championship Sunday. The Moonshots were the #1 seed and defeated Legends 7-2 before falling to Supreme 14-4 in the finals. This was the 5th NCS tournament and 4th NCS Cafarelli event this year, and the fourth time they have come in second place. They will get their championship rings eventually.

Supreme made it to the finals by defeating the Arizona Aces 10-0 in the semi-finals and eventually going undefeated all weekend. This is the second NCS Cafarelli tournament for them and they have been champions both times, with a 7-1 overall record.

The Arizona Aces lost their first game to Supreme on Sunday in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament, but we hope to see them competing in another of our events real soon.

The Legends also lost their semi-final game on Sunday to Moonshots in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament. We look forward to seeing them again in Payson at our Memorial Day Weekend Tournament.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐬
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬

The four teams that made it to the Silver bracket are the Bulldogs (1-0-1), Young Goats Elite (1-1-0), Arizona Dust Devils (1-1-0), and Angels Gold (0-1-1). The Arizona Dust Devils were eventual champions in the Silver bracket by going 2-0 on Sunday outscoring their opponents 33-2 in the process. This was the 11th NCS Cafarelli tournament for the Dust Devils! They have won multiple NCS tournaments and we continue to appreciate their commitment to our program and what we are doing for the kids. We will surely see them again real soon.

The Bulldogs defeated Angels Gold 10-9 in the semi-final game on Sunday to make it to the silver championship. This was the Bulldogs second NCS Cafarelli tournament and 5th overall NCS tournament this season. They have won a silver championship and have played for an additional two championship coming up just short. We will see them again at our Payson event.

The Young Goats Elite were shutout 10-0 in their semi-final game against the Arizona Dust Devils to end their weekend. This is the 2nd NCS Cafarelli event for them and 3rd NCS tournament this year. They won the Silver bracket in our Christmas Classic event back in December. They have a few more NCS tournaments scheduled for this year.

The Angels Gold team lost a close one to the Bulldogs in their semi-final game on Sunday. This was the second NCS tournament for Angels Gold. They most recently won our Silver bracket at our President's Day Classic event in February, and will see them in a couple of weeks at our Mother's Day Tournament.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐀𝐙 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐬 - 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐳

The four teams that went 0-2 on Saturday and placed into the Bronze bracket were the Arizona Dust Devils - Martinez, AZ Sticks, Devils BBC, and Monsoons Baseball. The AZ Sticks came on strong Sunday going 2-0 and winning the Bronze bracket over the Arizona Dust Devils - Martinez in a hard fought battle 15-9. This was the AZ Sticks second NCS tournament and their first Championship. We will see them again on Mother's Day.

The Arizona Dust Devils - Martinez defeated Monsoon 10-4 in the semi-finals before eventually losing in the championship game. This was the second NCS tournament for them and the first time, and hopefully not the last time they will play for a championship.

Monsoons Baseball lost all 3 games this weekend in their second NCS event of the year. They continue to work hard in every facet of the game, and we will see them again next weekend at the Cinco de Mayo Classic.

Devils BBC also ended up going 0-3 this weekend, but played a couple of competitive matches losing 9-4 against Legends on Saturday and losing 4-2 against AZ Sticks on Sunday. This was their 3rd NCS Cafarelli tournament this year and they will have an opportunity to get back on the winning side by playing in several of our upcoming tournaments.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟏𝐮

There were just 3 teams competing in the 11u division this weekend so they played a 4-game round robin tournament with the best record taking home the championship. Heat Baseball Club were the eventual champions going 4-0 over the weekend to take home the rings in their first NCS tournament this season.

The Arizona Aces went 2-2 over the weekend to secure second place and take home finalist rings for the second time in three NCS Cafarelli tournaments.

The Moonshots struggled as they played in their first NCS tournament this year. I know that they will improve with more playing time together and we hope to see them competing in another NCS Cafarelli event soon.

𝟏𝟎𝐔 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 🏆
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐀𝐙𝟔𝟒𝟑 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥

The 10u division saw some very competitive teams viying for that championship, with Birdgang Baseball eventually taking home the rings. They put up 72 runs in 4 games as their offense was fire! This was the 5th NCS Cafarelli tournament for Birdgang this season, and this is their second straight championship win after losing the previous two championship games they played in.

AZ643 had a comeback win against AZ Sticks to make it to the championship game. They were 3-0 heading into the championship game in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament. They competed hard and we will see them again in a couple of weeks at the Mother's Day Tournament on 5/10-5/11.

Lil Slammers Baseball was the third 2-0 team on Saturday. They won their first game on Sunday by defeating the Hounds 17-5 before they lost to Birdgang in the semi-finals. This was their second NCS Cafarelli tournament, but 7th NCS tournament overall this season. They have won 3 previous NCS Championships in 4 attempts.

After losing both games on Saturday by a total of 4 runs, AZ Sticks came out strong and defeated the Arizona Dragons 14-6 in their first game on Sunday. They eventually lost to AZ643 12-11 in the semi-finals. This was their second NCS Cafarelli tournament this year.

Both the Arizona Dragons and Hounds Baseball went 0-3 over the weekend, with both teams competing to the very end. The Arizona Dragons had a couple players end up getting sick and they had to play with 8 players on Sunday but they didn't give up! This was the Arizona Dragons second NCS Cafarelli tournament this year, and they are registered for at least two more future events. This was also the first NCS tournament for Hounds Baseball, and they are also registered for at least two more before the end of the season. I am sure there are more wins in store for both teams.

𝟗𝐔 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 🏆
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐁𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝟗𝐮
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 - 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐡𝐞𝐦

Bambinos Elite 9u went undefeated this weekend (4-0) on their way to taking home the championship rings. They had a close 9-8 semi-final win over Cactus Jaxx before defeating Arizona Mayhem in the championship. This was the second NCS Cafarelli tournament for Bambinos Elite 9u and their first championship win after making it to the finals in our Toys For Tots event in December.

Arizona Mayhem was the only other undefeated team (2-0) heading into Sunday, and they were the #1 seed. They defeated the Sluggers 14-2 in the semi-final game before running into the hot Bambinos Elite 9u team. This was the 5th NCS Cafarelli tournament for Mayhem and 7th overall NCS tournament. Arizona Mayhem had won 2 previous championships back-to-back, including last week's Spring Fling.

Cactus Jaxx went 1-1 on Saturday and unfortunately lost a nail biter on Sunday to the Bambinos 9-8 in the semi-finals. This was their first NCS Cafarelli tournament and we will see them again next week!

The Sluggers and Bambinos 9u teams both went 0-2 on Saturday and met up in their first game on Sunday. The Sluggers got the best of the Bambinos 9u team winning 17-9 before eventually losing to Arizona Mayhem in the semi-finals. This was the Sluggers first NCS tournament, but we will see them again on Memorial Day weekend up in Payson.

The Bambinos 9u team worked hard all weekend long to try and get a win in their first NCS Cafarelli tournament. They put up a lot of runs, but unfortunately gave up even more. We will see them next weekend also at the Cinco de Mayo Classic in Chandler.

Here's to incredible memories, hard-fought wins, and the spirit of the game! Thank you, coaches, players, and parents!! ⚾💪

see all spring fling EVENT results here
This was the First NCS Cafarelli event for American Made Athletics who were 3-0 heading into the championship game, which was a really good showing.

This was the second NCS Cafarelli tournament for In The Zone Athletics, after most recently taking home the championship at the NCS Super Bowl Saturday Tournament.

This was Young Vaqueros 5th NCS Cafarelli tournament and 9th NCS tournament overall this year. They most recently won the silver bracket Championship at our NCS Cafarelli Spring Training Classic tournament.

This was the first NCS tournament for Trosky 8/9u who scored more runs each game they played, and competed hard all weekend. Hopefully we will see you again soon!

9U Gold 🥇
Arizona Mayhem - Champions

Tucson Riot - Finalist

Arizona Mayhem went 3-0 on Sunday to with the Championship over Tucson Riot. They were 1-1 after 2 close games on Saturday but outscored their opponents 52-23 on Sunday. This was the 4th NCS tournament for Mayhem and their second championship after winning the silver bracket championship at the NCS Cafarelli Spring Training Classic.

After losing to the Arizona Athletics on Saturday, Tucson Riot barely defeated the Athletics on Sunday 17-16 to play in the championship game and end up as finalists. This was the second NCS Cafarelli event for Tucson Riot, as they won the Bronze Championship at the Spring Training Classic in March.

The Arizona Athletics were the number 2 seed heading into Sunday, after defeating Tucson Riot and barely losing to Arizona Mayhem 9-10 on Saturday. This was the second NCS Cafarelli event for the Athletics as they continue to improve!

The AZ Rattlesnakes started off great on Saturday going 2-0 and outscoring their opponents 29-15. They lost to the eventual champions on Sunday. This was their second NCS Cafarelli tournament, and if they keep playing like they are they will win a championship sooner than later.

MMW Arizona 9u also participated in the 9u division. They scored 7 runs in each of their 3 games, but struggled to hold their opponents to less than that. This was their first NCS Cafarelli tournament and I am sure with a focus on defense that they will start winning more of their games very soon.

12U Gold 🥇
Wolves Baseball 2031 AAA - Champions

Birdgang Baseball - Finalist

After their first lost of the weekend to the Dust Devils, Wolves Baseball 2031 AAA won 3 straight on their way to winning the Championship! They even avenged the earlier defeat by beating the Dust Devils 10-5 in the semi-final game. Wolves Baseball have played in 3 NCS Cafarelli tournaments and this is their first Championship, congratulations!

Birdgang Baseball once again made it to the championship game, which is their fourth straight championship game out of 5 total NCS Cafarelli tournaments. They have won 2 silver bracket championships but have come up just short in both of their gold championship games, including this time against Wolves Baseball.

The Wolfpack had a great start to the weekend going 2-0 on Saturday and outscoring their opponents 27-4 in the process. They ended up losing their semi-final game just missing the championship. This was the third NCS Cafarelli tournament Wolfpack has played in and they continue to improve each and every outing.

The Arizona Dust Devils ended up being the third seed after 4 of the 6 teams ended at 1-1 on Saturday. They defeated PDP Athletics on Sunday to make it to the semi-final game before losing to the eventual champions Wolves Baseball. This was the Arizona Dust Devils 9th NCS Cafarelli Tournament this season! They have a 28-10 overall record and prior to this tournament had won their last two tournaments, the Spring Training Classic and Super Bowl Saturday.

The Tucans were also 1-1 on Saturday before losing to Birdgang on Sunday. Their lone victory was against the Arizona Dust Devils, but they continue to improve every tournament they play in. This was the Tucans 4th NCS Cafarelli Tournament this year.
This was PDP Athletics first NCS Cafarelli Tournament this year. They competed hard against some really tough competition. Coming from Chandler, AZ we hope to see them again real soon!

14U Gold 🥇
Diablos - Champions

AZ Boyz Baseball - Finalist

The Diablos ended up going 4-0 on their way to winning another NCS Cafarelli Championship. They defense is undeniable as they outscored their opponents 27-8. This is the 10th NCS Cafarelli Tournament for the Diablos (including the HS Showcase event), and their third championship win in 6 championship games.

The AZ Boyz also were undefeated heading into the championship game after outscoring their opponents 30-5 in those games. This was their first loss in their last 12 games with NCS, playing in their 4th NCS Cafarelli tournament this year and playing in the championship game in every one up to this point (2-2 in championship games).

The Queen Creek Rattlers 14u White went 2-0 on Saturday, but were shut out by the Diablos in a close 3-0 game. This was the Rattlers first NCS Cafarelli tournament this year, and going 2-1 is a good showing.

Rounding out the gold bracket was 928 Baseball Club Teal, out of Yuma, AZ. They struggled with consistency this tournament, playing in their 2nd NCS Cafarelli tournament and 5th NCS Tournament overall. They played in one championship game in San Diego earlier this year.

14U Silver 🥇
FCA Lofton Baseball - Champions

Birdgang Baseball - Finalist

FCA Lofton was the 7th seed heading into Sunday after going 0-2 and being outscored 18-3. They flipped a switch on Sunday going 2-0 and outscoring their opponents 17-2 on their way to the championship. They knew when to turn it on, and this is now their second championship in 4 NCS Cafarelli tournament, also winning the President's Day Classic in February.

Birdgang Baseball was the fifth seed after going 1-1 on Saturday and was the first team in the silver bracket. After defeating Krigare Athletics in a tightly contested 2-1 final, they lost in the Championship game to FCA Lofton. This was the 9th NCS Cafarelli tournament for Birdgang and they are 2-4 in championship games.

The Tucson Sidewinders lost both of their games by 1 run on Saturday (4-5 vs Diablos, and 9-10 vs Queen Creek Rattlers), and couldn't put it all together on Sunday this weekend. This was the 5th NCS Cafarelli tournament for them this season, and they have played for one championship at the High School Black Friday tournament in November.

After losing big to Birdgang on Saturday, Krigare Athletics barely lost to Birdgang 2-1 on Sunday in a revenge match. They played their hearts out in their first ever NCS Cafarelli tournament, and we hope they are ready to compete in another of our events soon!

A huge thank you again to all teams, coaches, families, fans, and umpires for making this event such a success. Your energy and sportsmanship made it unforgettable!
See you at the next tournament!
